I recently fell in love with Amalie and her blog, White or Wrong. Her blog consists of her beautiful, classic outfits and photos that provide you with just a small window in her life, making you just desperately want to see more. Amalie has garnered hundreds of loyal followers, worldwide, all sitting behind their computer screens in the exact same position as me, hanging off her every word and hoping that she will post just a snippet more of her wardrobe.
1. What inspired you to start your blog?
Well, I first got introduced to the whole blogger world, when my friend showed me Maja Ravn’s blog. Her blog was so inspiring to me, and I loved the idea of, that you could write and post pictures about yourself and then get feedback from other people. I’ve been interested in fashion in a long time, so there was no doubt, that my blog should be a fashion blog. So when I got a camera I started blogging, (in about 2009 I think), and now I’m here! I’ve changed my blog name about five times, but I’ve blogged pretty much constantly since fall, 2009, and I still haven’t lost my passion for blogging and fashion.
2. How would you describe your style?
My style is very difficult to describe since it changes all the time. But roughly I’d say, that it’s simple with contrasts and details. I usually use about 2-4 colors in an outfit, like denim blue, black, white, grey and bordeaux. I try to keep a balance in my outfits, so it doesn’t become too masculine, casual, formal or feminine. For example I wear red lipstick with an oversized denim jacket, a pretty hat with a sweatshirt or high heels with trashy shorts.
3. Who or what inspires your outfits and style?
I gather a lot of inspiration on various Tumblrs and blogs, and also when walking in the streets of Copenhagen or other cities. I try to put my own touch on outfits I’ve seen, so it doesn’t seem like a complete rip off.
4. Who are favourite your blogs?
5. What has been your favourite outfit you have featured on your blog?
It’s hard to say, what outfit I like the most! Probably the outfit I posted here (below), because of the colors and simplicity. I’m also crazy about the denim jacket, and I think it looks great in this outfit.
6. What has been the best experience that has come from blogging?
Probably the fashion weeks I’ve attended. It’s so much fun to watch fashion shows, and I’ve definitely gotten some great experiences there. Also all the nice comments I get, that’s just amazing!
7. Are you surprised by the success and popularity of your blog?
I am, actually! In just a few months back I had half the followers and pageviews, I have now. There’s been an amazing development in my blog over the last months, which I’m very happy about!
8. Do you have any advice for budding bloggers?
Well, first the basics as having a great, simple layout, nice pictures and such. But the best advice I can give is, that you shall never stop blogging because of the lack of pageviews or comments - keep blogging and the readers will come, just as they did with me!
